Nicosia – Lefkara
(The
only divided capital in the world)
Nicosia is bustling European city with well-known stores that
are perfect for enthusiastic shoppers. There is a chance to
watch craftsmen in a jewellery workshop.
Archaeological Museum gives an insight into the island’s rich
history that spans more than 9,000 years, or if you would
rather, there is time to enjoy some shopping and exploring Laiki
Yitonia the 19th century `folk neighbourhood` with
its souvenir shops and taverns
After lunch the tour
follows the `Green Line` that divides Nicosia in two. We will then
stop by the Archbishopric and visit Cathedral of St. John, housing
some outstanding frescoes. The journey continues to the picturesque
village of Lefkara that is world famous for its lace and silverware.

Troodos Mountains - Kykkos Monastery
Join us for an
unforgettable excursion into the green heart of the island: the
Troodos Range of Mountains. We will be passing by the largest water
dam, through picturesque mountain villages and pine forests, we will
stop at the centre of Troodos Mountains: the Central Square, 1750m
above sea level or in Platres for our coffee break, then onto
Marathasa valley where we will arrive at the largest, richest and
famous monastery of the island, Kykkos Monastery founded in the 12th
century and dedicated to the Virgin Mary, well known for an icon of
the mother of God believed to have been painted by St.Luke. We will
also visit the Tomb of the first President of Cyprus, the Archbishop
Makarios III, followed by a stop off for lunch. On the way back we
will stop for a last coffee break before arriving back to your
hotel.

Pafos –Curium Archaeological Sites
The drive to Paphos
reveals ever –changing scenery from vineyards and citrus groves to
archaeological sites. Our first stop is at Curium. This Greco-Roman
site sits on a cliff top high above the Mediterranean and its
beautiful open-air theatre offers spectacular views in all
directions.
We then pass through
Episkopi, the largest British base before enjoying time at Petra tou
Romiou – Aphrodite`s birthplace, where the goddess is said to have
been born from the waves.
In Paphos we head straight
for the house of Dionysos and its famous mosaics, which were found
quite by accident in 1962! We pass the ruined castle of Saranta
Kolones `Forty Columns`, and At.Paul`s Pillar, where the apostle is
said to have been flogged when he and Barnabas brought Christianity
to the island. We also pass the entrance to the catacombs of Ayia
Solomoni, marked by a large terebinth tree laden with pieces of
material. It is said that of someone is ill and their family ties
material belonging to that person to one of the branches of this
holy tree, they will be miraculously cured. After a stroll round the
picturesque harbour we begin our return journey.

Larnaca – Ayia Napa
Join us for an interesting
tour to our south-eastern part of the island. Taking the motorway to
Larnaca we’ll pass by the Salt Lake of Larnaca and we’ll stop at the
lavish, sun drenched Sea Front Promenade of Larnaca for our first
coffee beak. Then we’ll visit the Church of St. Lazarus (900A.D.)
built over the tomb of the saint.
We’ll pass through
Dhekelia British Military Base, along the Dividing green line, where
we’ll take a short stop to see the ghost town of Famagusta. Via
Paralimini we will proceed to Ayia Napa, once a small fishing
village, today a major tourist resort. After visiting the medieval
monastery with the giant sycamore three, time is given for lunch at
a seaside restaurant by fishing harbour.

Troodos Mountain Villages
This will be unforgettable
experience. Omodhos Village will be one of our stops; the village is
famous for its vineyards, its winepress, lace and Byzantine church
of the Monastery of Stavros (Holy Cross). You will have opportunity
to try some of the best produced wines of the island.
We will pass by the summer
mountain resort of Platres, passing by orchards of fruit trees and
Platania forest station. We will then head north to the medieval
village of Kakopetria, which still retains its charm and beauty,
marvel at the folk architecture of the old dwellings and the old
restored water powered flourmill. Take in some of the fresh mountain
air fragrance with pine from the local forests. One of our stops
will be Lania village, where you can visit some of the art studios
belonging to artists who have made their home there. Lania is famous
for the sweet dessert wine Comandaria.

Polis Aphrodite’s baths – Coral Bay
Taking the highway
Limassol-Paphos we will stop at Petra to Romiou, the legendary
birthplace of Aphrodite for a short break. We continue or trip
passing by Paphos.
Driving through
vineyards and citrus plantations, the small town of Polis and the
finishing shelter of Latchi, we will arrive at the Penisula of
Akamas, where the baths of Aphrodite are located. Here at idyllic
spot of unspoiled beauty, the legend says, the Goddess Aphrodite
used to bathe and refresh herself in the pool shaded by a fig tree.
After our lunch break we will take a different route through
Kathikas and Peyia villages, passing by banana plantations, a drive
to the famous white sandy Coral Bay for the last stop before
returning back, (in summer) or you will have free time at the
fishing harbour of Paphos (in winter)

The
unspoilt north-western peninsula of the island is called the Akamas

scrubland with rugged hills as a dramatic backdrop. The safari
visits the Lara area, one of the last breeding sites in the
Mediterranean of the rare Green Turtle (Chelonia mydas) and a

Northern Exposure

Kyrenia –
Bellapais
We
cross the Green Line to the
other side of Nicosia and wind our way up and over the Pentadaktylos
Mountains with their spectacular views to visit the famous gothic
Abbey of Bellapais. Spend time with us in the picturesque and
historic port of Kyrenia including a tour of its medieval fortress
and take in the sights and sounds as you wander round the harbour
area where free time is given for exploring and lunch.

Past and
Present
Travel eastwards
to Famagusta, once the island’s most popular tourist destination. We
will drive you into the old town where free time will be given for a
walk. We will then continue our trip towards the so called `ghost
town`, inaccessible since the Turkish invasion of 197.
We will stop
shortly, so that we see the abandoned hotels of the town. Our tour
continues to the ancient city of Salamis, with its well preserved
Baths and theatre.
Continuing on the
free area we will have time for lunch by the harbor of Aya Napa.
There is also the chance to visit the 16th century
Venetian monastery, located on the center of the village, before
returning to your hotels.

Cruises – Shore Excursions

holy land –
jerusalem & Bethlehem
We drive from the
port Haifa along the beautiful coastal motorway to Bethlehem, the
birthplace of Jesus. After passing by Rachel’s Tomb we visit the
Church of the Nativity and the Grotto. We will then move on to a
nice local restaurant where we will enjoy a traditional lunch. After
lunch, we drive to the Holy City of Jerusalem. Entering through
Jaffa Gate, we begin a walking tour of the old city. We visit the
Church of the Holy Sepulcher and Golgotha. Our tour continues
through the exotic oriental bazaar to the Wailing Wall. On the way
we stop for a panoramic view of the Temple Mount and the Dome of the
Rock and Al Aksa Mosques. We then proceed to the Mount of Olives to
visit the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations. We
finally drive through modern Jerusalem where we can enjoy views of
the Knesset (Parliament), the Museum of Israel and the Shrine of the
Book, where the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed.

Beirut –
Lebanon
Byblos – Beirut City Centre – Jeita Grotto
The excursion in and
around Beirut starts with a visit to the beautifully rebuilt city
centre that has retained its traditional charm. We proceed to the
Jeita Grotto to admire the awe-inspiring stalactites and
stalagmites, followed by a visit to Byblos, the oldest settlement in
the world, with its ancient ruins and a colourful bazaar. A tour of
Jounieh and visit to the hilltop church of the Lady Harissa round
off the day.
Port Said – Egypt
From Port Said we drive
through the cultivated desert to Cairo home to 18 million people and
the largest city on the African continent. Our first stop is the
Giza Plateau where the only remaining Wonder of the Ancient World,
the Great Peramids of Giza, is found. Time will be allocated to
explore the site on our own. We continue down the valley to see the
Sphinx. Our next stop will be at a Papyrus Institute where the
science of paper making from reeds, n art first discovered by the
ancient Egyptians, will be demonstrated and limited time for
souvenir shopping will be allocated. We continue downtown to the
banks of the river Nile where a luxurious cruise boat awaits to sail
us on the same timeless waterway traversed by Pharaohs, Queens and
Nobles thousands of years of years ago.
Sit back, relax and
enjoy a sumptuous buffet lunch in elaborate interiors as you glide
past Cairo’s waterfront landmarks. For our entertainment, a
folkloric presentation and belly dancing will be performed during
lunch.
Our last stop will be
at Tahrir (Liberty) Square, the heart of downtown Cairo. We will
visit the National Archaeological Museum which is the repository of
the world’s largest and richest collection of Egyptian Antiquities,
amongst them the priceless collection of King Tutankhamen.
